Slam Dash iOS Platformer Game

Visual Design

The approach to designing a visually appealing yet performance-efficient game.


Low-Poly Art Style: All game assets were modeled in Blender using a low-poly art style, creating a minimalist aesthetic and ensuring the game remains lightweight.

Texturing: Simple UV unwrapping techniques were employed in Blender to apply shaders, maintaining the clean visual look while optimising the on-device rendering process.

Gameplay Mechanics

How core gameplay elements and interactive features were implemented.


One-Finger Swipe Controls: The game features intuitive swipe-based mechanics, allowing players to dash and slam their way through obstacles.

Event Graphs: Key mechanics were brought to life using Unreal Engine's Blueprint system. Event graphs simplified complex logic for player movement, obstacle interaction, and environmental events.

Power-Ups and Obstacles: Implemented unique power-ups and varying obstacles to challenge players, dynamically adjusting difficulty as the game progresses to maintain engagement.

Optimised Performance: The game was developed with a focus on efficient performance, utilising pre-rendered shaders and low geometry models.

iOS Deployment: Gained experience in the building, signing and .ipa release of iOS apps, after acquiring an 'Apple Developer' license.
